Decide TogetherAbout Mammograms

A conversation aid for health care clinicians to use when discussing mammography screening with women 75 and older

Let’s get started

Note: This website is not for women who have had breast cancer, women who have a genetic mutation that puts them at high risk of breast cancer, or women who have breast pain or symptoms.

Why should women 75 and older talk with their health care clinicians about whether to have a mammogram?

It is not known if the benefits of a mammogram outweigh the downsides for women ages 75 and older, because none of the large clinical trials that studied mammograms included women 75 and older. This conversation aid was designed to support mammogram discussions between women ages 75 and older and their clinicians.
